Karlin Sewell
My Story
Karlin has always had a passion to learn and create. She shared a lot of that passion with her five children while raising and homeschooling them. Later she went back to school herself and finished up a bachelors and masters in Business Administration. Pottery became an extension of herself when she started to learn the craft several years ago. Her father, Erik, who has been a potter since college, taught her kids in their high school years. One of her boys wanted her to come and learn with him and she fell in love. Being able to take a lump of clay and create something beautiful has been an amazing inspiration for her. She volunteers some of her time at a ceramics studio at a Southern Adventist University helping to mentor students in learning the art of pottery.

She has been working to develop specialized glazes and glazing techniques that result in unique effects on the surface of each piece. One of her favorite things is opening the kiln after firing to see the individualization and distinctive glazed results on the pottery pieces.
